Our project also includes this web-site -just a few pages at the moment but expected to expand with more information in most of its sections.

Recording oral history, to supplement and fill in some of the gaps in the archives took place during 2008-2009.

Extracts can be heard on the website.

We belonged to the Bolton Women's Liberation group 1971 - 1986. We have collected together the documents and objects we created during those years with the intention of saving them and making them available to the public. We have received a grant from the National Heritage Lottery for this purpose.

We hope that this website will inform you, inspire you and motivate you to carry on the work of suffragettes, suffragists and feminists both present and past. A conference 'Feminism - Then and Now' took place in Bolton in March 2008, and on the conference page you can find photographs and thoughts from the participants.

A complete set of our archives is lodged with the Feminist Archive North, based at Leeds, England. Our 'Contact Us' page has their web address. Duplicate material will be available in Bolton Reference Library.

Much of this material will be digitised to increase accessibility, and some will be on this web-site.
